age/ population/ counting number in english

 

 

 내 영어 실력 향상을 위해 영어로 끄적끄적 써보기로했다. 학교에서 다 말하지 못했던 것들을 메모해 놓았다가 그날그날의 토픽으로 삼으련다.  문법적으로 틀렸는지 맞았는지 알 방법은 없지만 계속 쓰면서 부딪히면 언젠가는 바르게 쓰겠지 뭐. 더불어 단어가 틀려도 일단은 쓰는게 목적이니까 그냥 써보련다.

 2. age - drinking allowed age

We have a different age counting system from Western, There are 2 different things in Korean age counting system. One thing is that : the new born baby is already 1 year old in Korea. I think it shows kind of respect for life. So if my birthday is passed, i substract 1 from my age but if my birthday is not passed yet, i substract 2 years old from my age.

 And in Korea, the age is just depending on the year when you are borned. So everyone who are borned same year has same age. = So age of the people who are borned at same year is same.

 

 So I have to calculate whenever someone asked me my age. It might be takes time to answer about age for Korean. We have to consider whether my birthday is passed or not. and decied to subtract 1 or 2 from my korean age.

 

 And drinking is allowed after 20 years old in Korea. So in western age counting system, it would be 18 or 19. And some of 19 years old people are waiting for new years day just right in front of the bar.

I wanted to go to York Univ for an exchange student. I made a list of 10 universities and York was third or fourth. All I had to do was just made a list, submit, interview and wait for result. But i was assigned to zurich. = they assign me to zurich.

if they compromise it, it could be........ But they will refuse it I think.
